The Turkish banking company Bank Asya in Altunizade and transit system operators in Turkey are using VeriFone Holdings Inc. payment terminals on buses.
VeriFone, of San Jose, said last week that Bank Asya is using its MX870 payment system and its QX110 wireless card reader to handle transactions made with the bank's contactless payment cards on buses in Kahramanmaras.
Bank Asya issues a contactless EMV MasterCard Inc. card whose software lets the card be used with transit systems.
The VeriFone terminals have cellular and WiFi modems for use on buses; Bank Asya's transit card, Asyacard DIT, can also be used to pay tolls on two bridges in Istanbul.
