Victory State In New York Hires Corn As President

Newly created Victory State Bank on New York's Staten Island has hired Mert Corn as president.

Mr. Corn was most recently chief executive officer of Brooklyn-based Community Capital Bank. Before that he headed Gateway State Bank in Staten Island from its founding in 1977 to its 1996 sale to Staten Island Savings Bank.

Before joining Gateway, Mr. Corn was briefly executive vice president of Union Chelsea National Bank in Manhattan. He had been president and CEO of Chelsea National Bank until 1977, when its assets were used to form Union Chelsea.

Victory State has $7 million of assets. Ralph Branca is executive vice president and chief financial officer, Elizabeth Scarano vice president and chief operating officer, and Richard P. Boyle vice president and chief lending officer.
