Vivotech, which announced the agreement Monday, also said it would work with Direct Source Inc. of Minneapolis to help large merchants accept contactless payments.

Paradies plans to deploy Vivotech readers in over 500 retail stores in airports in the United States and Canada this year.

"Vivotech was not only very responsive to our needs, but delivered a single solution that accepts multiple payment options," Lou Bottino, the chief operating officer and senior vice president of Paradies, said in a Vivotech press release.

The vendor, which did not say what model the airport retailer would use, also started offering Monday its 5000m model, which is designed to accept contactless payments from mobile devices.
