Vivotech Inc. announced Monday that Commonwealth Bank of Australia and MasterCard Inc. used its software in Australia's first trial of mobile payments using wireless near-field communication.
The Santa Clara, Calif., provider of mobile payment technology said the pilot supported both credit and prepaid mobile phone payments. It took place at the MasterCard Masters Golf Tournament, at the Huntingdale Golf Club in Melbourne in November.
Vivotech's applications manage the "wallet" in a mobile device and enable loading and personalization of card details into the mobile phones over the air.
