Wachovia Corp. announced Monday that it has hired Sridhar Chityala, a Citigroup Inc. executive, to become its head of e-commerce.

Most recently Mr. Chityala was the head of the telecommunications business unit at Citi Cards, overseeing the division's mobile services, its contactless credit cards, and its relationship with AT&T Inc. Before joining Citi he had been the executive vice president of e-business at JPMorgan Chase & Co.
He will oversee Wachovia's Internet, intranet, and mobile channels. He will report to Ranjana Clark, the Charlotte company's head of marketing.
"I am excited about how Wachovia can leverage these channels in an integrated fashion across its business units," Mr. Chityala said in a press release.
