Wealth Manager Opens Conference Call to Thousands

PNC Advisors, the wealth management arm of Pittsburgh's PNC Bank Corp., has invited 6,000 affluent clients to join a conference call set for Thursday.

The scheduled speakers are Don Berdine, the unit's chief investment officer; Andrew Damm, manager of PNC's proprietary large-cap equity growth fund; and Stuart Hoffman, the banking company's chief economist. Jim Dunigan, chief investment officer for PNC's Philadelphia region, will moderate.

David Ross Palmer, a consultant covering the affluent market, said PNC's letting clients participate in the conference call is "intriguing." He said other banks have invited certain clients to meet with financial experts in person.
