This week in Washington will be quieter, and the District emptier, as Congress enters the first week of its Easter recess. But the silence won´t be total. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner is returning from London today, and some big names will convene at the Mandarin Oriental for the Council of Institutional Investors spring meeting.
Monday
Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Mary Schapiro will speak at the CII´s spring meeting at 9:15am at the Mandarin. She´ll discuss the SEC´s agenda. Federal Reserve Board Governor Kevin Warsh will give the conference´s lunchtime address at 12:30pm.
Tuesday
Goldman Sachs Chief Executive Lloyd Blankfein will address the CII conference at 10am.
Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. Chairman Sheila Bair will be in Kansas City, Mo. on the last leg of the Face Your Finances road show, a five-city U.S. tour on which Bair has hosted personal finance and banking information panels.
