Payments-Software Provider Distra Enters U.S. Market

Payments-software provider Distra Pty. Ltd. of Sydney, Australia, is hiring a U.S.-based staff and has opened an office in Atlanta, the company announced recently.

The company specializes in providing bank and card transaction-processing software platforms. Most of its customers are financial institutions in the Asia Pacific region and Europe, and it is now adding to that base with U.S. banks and card companies, Robert Hammer, chairman and CEO of R.K. Hammer, which is advising the company on its U.S. expansion, tells PaymentsSource.

Although details of the company’s first U.S. project and client are confidential, Distra’s ability to deliver configurable, 100% Java functionality with immediate, high-performance and high-availability transaction processing were key factors in the company’s decision to select the Distra universal payments platform, Distra noted in an Aug. 8 press release.
