ACI Releases Test Results for Its Processing Tech

ACI Worldwide's Money Transfer System successfully processed about 15 million transactions per hour during tests of various end-to-end payments processing scenarios, the company said April 18.

ACI's system consolidates multiple payment processing systems, each typically with its own hardware, software and support costs.  It's designed to process multiple payment types, serve as an enterprise system for internal and external messaging or act as a payments hub. Money Transfer supports ACH, SEPA, Swift Messaging and U.K. Faster Payments.

In the testing, ACI used environments similar to actual production deployments, including debulking files, rule validations, full parsing, distribution and risk management. ACI says Aite Group validated the results.

ACI recently closed its acquisition of Online Resources, a move that allows ACI to add electronic bill payment and other forms of digital payment.

Other technology companies are making similar moves to update their payment capabilities.

Fiserv has rebranded its Accel payments network to reflect the integration with mobile acceptance and person-to-person social payments. Fidelity National Information Services has also launched its own payments network, and First Data has introduced VisionPlus Flex, an upgrade of its VisionPlus suite. Heartland Payment Systems recently purchased Ovation Payroll to add mobile tech, and Total System Services is adding to its prepaid capabilities with its purchase of NetSpend and built on its mobile commerce capabilities  by purchasing ProPay.
