Consumers in China using the Alipay Wallet will be able to use fingerprint scanning technology from Nok Nok Labs to replace passwords when engaging the wallet for e-commerce payment transactions.

Nok Nok Labs introduced FIDO to develop technology that would replace the standard passwords in e-commerce.
Alipay will use Nok Nok biometrics to enable the secure online payments through the Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone, which has a built-in fingerprint sensor. Alipay also uses Nok Nok's multifactor authentication server as part of its infrastructure to communicate with the Samsung handset.
Working with Alipay, a major player in the global online commerce, to provide an easy, secure experience for their customers is tremendous validation for the FIDO movement, said Phillip Dunkelberger, president and CEO of Nok Nok Labs, in the release.

Earlier this year, Nok Nok worked to
Alibaba Group founded Alipay in December 2004. The payments unit was spun off into a separate entity in 2009, with Alibaba maintaining an affiliate relationship with the business.
