To address integration concerns for retailers, Bindo is connecting its iPad-based point of sale software to Powa Technologies' hardware for clients in the U.S. and Asia.
The Bindo POS software will operate through the PowaPOS T25 system, which includes a terminal stand, a 2D bar code scanner and a receipt printer, New York-based Bindo states in an April 23 press release.
"The iPad POS retail industry is still fairly new," David Bozin, vice president of growth development at Bindo, stated in the release. "Our partnership is a direct response to the rising trend of the incorporation of advanced technologies in the retail industry."
The PowaPOS and Bindo integration will operate through Bluetooth Low Energy, rather than WiFi, giving merchants more stability for printing receipts in areas of low Internet coverage, Bindo said.
With Powa as a partner, Bindo's system more clearly competes with Square Register, a similar iPad-based mobile point of sale offering.
