Bank of Commerce will deploy ATMs and self-service banking kiosks in service stations run by petro retailer Petron Corp., a spokesperson for the Manila-based financial institution tells CardLine Global. "We will set up small banking kiosks with ATMs in 1,000 service stations run by Petron Corp," the spokesperson says. The spokesperson says banking regulations in the country do not require small banks to gain central bank approval for deploying such machines. "With the 1,000 small kiosks, the bank will have a total of 1,059 branches," he adds. The bank calls the kiosks branches because the machines will provide basic banking services besides cash withdrawals. Petron operates 1,300 petro stations across the Philippines. Bank of Commerce is a subsidiary of San Miguel Corp.
