American Express Co. is offering certain credit card customers a $300 prepaid gift card in exchange for paying off their outstanding balances and closing their accounts between March 1 and April 30. According to a notice on AmEx's Web site, selected cardholders who were notified of the offer by mail in recent weeks must enroll by Feb. 28 in order to qualify.

TNB Card Services Inc. will offer Serverside Group's card-personalization services to its credit-union customers.

MasterCard Inc. has appointed Melissa Ballenger controller and principal accounting officer, replacing Tara Maguire, who was promoted to group executive for corporate planning and financial analysis. Ballenger previously was senior vice president, controller and principal accounting officer at Washington Mutual Inc.
