The U.S. Department of the Treasury has approved allowing 10 of the nation's largest banks to repay their shares of the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program Congress created last fall. Card-issuing banks expected to repay funds include JPMorgan Chase & Co. ($25 billion), U.S. Bancorp ($6.6 billion), Capital One Financial Corp. ($3.6 billion) and American Express Co. ($3.4 billion).
Online fraud-prevention services provider Accertify Inc. has formed a partnership with RMS Corp., which sells software to manage credit card charge-backs. The partnership offers merchants combined services to combat fraud-related charge-backs.
