China Construction Bank Issues Card For Railway Workers

China Construction Bank has begun issuing a MasterCard-branded credit card designed for use by employees of China's Ministry of Railways, a bank spokesperson tells CardLine Global. The agency employs at least 1 million workers, according to various estimates, though that number could not be independently confirmed with Chinese authorities by Thursday's deadline. The cobranded card carries no annual fee and offers yuan- and dollar-denominated payments, the bank says. In total, the bank has issued more than 3 million credit cards in China.
