Clear2Pay, a Belgium-based payment-technology vendor, said Tuesday it has bought Ereon, a payments consulting firm based in the Netherlands. With the acquisition of the 2-year-old Dutch firm, Clear2Pay expects to boost its expertise in such areas as the Single Euro Payment Area and the Payment Services Directive, ongoing efforts to create common markets for payments in Europe. Ereon's eight employees have joined the Belgian company, a Clear2Pay spokesperson tells CardLine Global. Terms were not disclosed. Last week, Clear2Pay said it would buy banking-services vendor ETH Tech Ltd., a Beijing-based firm founded in 2004 that boasts a client list that includes China Construction Bank, Bank of China, People's Bank of China (the country's central bank) and China National Clearing Center (CardLine Global, 26 June).
