Alabama Power Co. Employees Credit Union, the state's second largest in terms ofassets, members and branches, has joined Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.-based Co-op Financial Services, both companies recently announced.
It is the sixth Alabama-based credit union to join Co-op Financial. The others are Alabama Rural Electric Federal Credit Union, Champion Community Credit Union, eCO Credit Union, North Alabama Educators Credit Union and Tuscaloosa Credit Union. Birmingham, Ala.-based Alabama Power has more than $1.6 billion in assets. The credit union manages 11 branches across the state. Co-op operates more than 25,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide and 150 surcharge-free ATMs in Alabama.
