Comdata Signs Fleet Card Deal With Warren Transport

Fleet card provider Comdata Corp. has signed a deal with Warren Transport to provide payment services designed to reduce costs and create operational efficiencies, the companies announced Sept. 21.

Warren Transport, which operates approximately more than 2,000 trailers, will use the proprietary Comdata Card to optimize its fleet program through enhanced card controls, funds distribution, reporting and fuel discounts available with Brentwood, Tenn.-based Comdata, the companies noted in a press release.

A Comdata representative declined to say who provided Warren with fleet cards previously but says Comdata’s program will provide better reporting and controls and a more comprehensive fueling network. A representative from Warren Transport was not immediately available to comment.

“Given the demands on our industry, we continuously look for [services] that drive efficiency and allow us to remain competitive,” Richard Donnelly, Waterloo, Iowa-based Warren Transport president, said in a press release. “Comdata’s proven reputation for service excellence and position within the industry as a focused provider of innovative payment solutions provide significant advantages for both our drivers and our company.”

With the Comdata Card, drivers have access to thousands of truck-stop locations nationwide that offer enhanced data, and fleet managers gain the ability to supervise their programs with individual card controls, online account management, and immediate reporting. Fleet card operators also may use the card for funds disbursements, allowing companies to distribute payments and reimbursements to drivers while they are out on the road.

As an issuer and a processor, Ceridian Corp.’s Comdata subsidiary provides fleet, corporate payment, virtual and prepaid card services to more than 30,000 customers. The company has issued more than 7 million Comdata Cards, enabling more than $31 billion in transactions annually. Comdata captures and reports detailed transaction data, giving customers control over their expenses.
