ControlScan Updates SiteWatch Security Tech for E-Commerce

Security services firm ControlScan has updated its SiteWatch software to help acquirers and payment facilitators detect e-commerce fraud.

Merchant service providers use SiteWatch to expose potential clients that are operating one or more unregistered e-commerce websites to facilitate transaction laundering activity. SiteWatch validates e-commerce merchants before boarding and then continuously monitors a merchant's activity to ensure it complies with credit card brand protection mandates.

"Because the landscape of online fraud is constantly changing, we're evolving SiteWatch along with it so that our partners can continue to detect and eliminate problematic merchants along with their extended ecosystems," Joan Herbig, chief executive of ControlScan, said in a March 30 press release.

Version 2.0 of SiteWatch adds a Web-based platform that performs ongoing upgrades to keep merchant service providers ahead of cyber-criminal activities. The updated product also features cyber-intelligence enhancements, an integration suite for system-to-system interaction, and a risk-scoring system that allows analysts to prioritize certain merchants for vetting.
