A Dutch company that has developed a carbon-offset credit card plans to launch its program in several other countries, including France, Spain and the United States, Patrick Bunnik, CEO of Netherlands-based RePay International Ltd., tells CardLine Global. RePay's Greencard credit card enables cardholders to offset carbon emissions of their purchases by supporting such environmentally sound projects as forestry, sustainable energy, energy savings or the capture of greenhouse gases. The company will introduce the card in France and Spain before the end of this year and will launch in the U.S. early next year, Bunnik says, declining to name any local partners for the program.
