Facebook has expanded the power of its person-to-person payments feature within its Messenger chat app by enabling group payments.

By clicking on Payments in Messenger’s recently revised menu, users that have linked a card to the app can request a specific amount and purpose of a payment. Like Facebook’s basic P2P feature introduced in 2015, group payments are free.
"Splitting the bill, concert tickets, a present for a friend, lodging for a trip, or whatever needs to be settled in a group is now easier than ever,” said David Marcus, who heads Messenger for Facebook, said in a post on Facebook.
