Featurespace, Emailage team up to battle application fraud

Featurespace has formed a partnership with Emailage to combat online application fraud, where criminals use stolen consumer credentials to apply for credit cards or bank accounts in victims’ names.

The collaboration will enable London-based fraud technology firm Featurespace to access Emailage's database of email addresses connected to IP addresses, domain names and phone numbers to reduce fraud, the companies said in a Monday press release.

Chandler, Ariz.-based Emailage, launched in 2012, will feed its data into Featurespace’s platform to create an instant risk score for emails used in online applications, according to the release.

“This integration makes it easy for all of our customers to leverage the combined power of our innovative adaptive behavioral analytics and Emailage’s proprietary data set to improve risk-scoring and reduce exposure to sophisticated online threats at the point of application,” said Martina King, Featurespace’s CEO, in the release.

Featurespace won $32 million in venture capital funding early this year to expand the industry reach of its fraud-fighting solutions, bringing total funding to date to around $80 million since its launch in 2008.
