FAIRHAVEN, Mass. – First Citizens' FCU said yesterday it is now offering personalized Visa CheckCards with next generation security features embedded within the card.
The new First Citizens' check cards feature technology that eliminates the highly non-secure embossing prevalent on today's cards. Instead, the card the card information is sealed within the card, preventing numbers being stolen by tracing or rubbing.
An added feature of the embedded card is that new cards are processed at First Citizens' central office in Fairhaven. The results are that, in the event of loss or theft, cards can be replaced within 48 hours. In emergency and special situations, cards can be replaced in even shorter time.
All new Visa CheckCards will be available at member request immediately, and will feature First Citizens' new corporate color and stylized logo. The new technology allows members to personalize their cards with photos of family members, pets, vacation spots, and virtually any graphic that stays within accepted societal norms, and is free of copyright or patent infringement. Using a specialized application form on the First Citizens' website, graphics can be uploaded and available within 48 hours.
