The move follows other First Data layoffs as the company continues its restructuring following the 2007 takeover by private equity giant Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.

In March 2009, the company laid off about 1% of its 850 employees from the local center and 270 throughout the company.

In 2008, it laid off about 500 employees throughout the organization. In November 2007, it terminated about 6%, or 1,600, employees company wide.
