First National Merchant Solutions, an Omaha, Neb.-based payment processor, says it is now selling American Express-card acceptance to smaller merchants using the AmEx OnePoint program. Under OnePoint, merchants can view their AmEx transactions combined on a single statement that contains all of a merchant's card brand transactions. While AmEx retains authorization for transactions made with its cards, First National says it will process and handle payments for merchants in the program. First National says it will be able to support these merchants, too, but pricing continues to be set by AmEx. A First National spokesperson tells CardLine sister publication ISO&Agent Weekly that only its internal sales agents, and not independent sales organizations affiliated with First National, will be able sell OnePoint through the processor.
