FleetCor has partnered with IBM Cloud services to help manage increasing customer demand and data as it grows its business into new markets.
The partnership allows FleetCor to leverage IBM Cloud’s data insight capabilities as it faces an increase in secure transaction processing. The fleet card provider processed about 1.9 billion transactions in 2015 and expects commercial card purchases to grow another 13% from last year.
"Achieving scalable, secure processing to support FleetCor's growth while applying new data insights from our card payment solutions to clients' business needs are indispensable," John Reed, FleetCor’s global chief information officer, said in a May 25 news release. "Our partnership with IBM will enable greater cost savings, enhanced security, and improved logistics to further operational efficiency."
FleetCor, which provides fuel credit card and specialized payment products, will leverage IBM Cloud’s managed services for z systems. The technology is designed to extend the mainframe’s transaction processing capabilities to a hybrid cloud environment.
The z system services also provide predictable pricing models, shared infrastructure for software, server, disk and tape needs and cloud-based provisioning of computing resources.
