FleetCor Technologies is providing outsourcing services for Shell fuel cards in Germany.
The move is part of FleetCor's previously disclosed agreement that outlines a broader European expansion plan, including the potential acquisition of part of Shell's fuel card portfolios in other parts of Europe, the company said in a Sept. 25 press release.
Under the terms of the agreement, FleetCor has the exclusive rights to sell new fuel card accounts in specific fleet segments in Germany. FleetCor is responsible for sales, marketing, processing, servicing and billing to the acquired SME fuel card customer base.
"We are officially live in Germany as the outsource provider for Shells SME portfolio," said Ron Clarke, FleetCor's chairman and chief executive, in the release. "We are thrilled to be entering the world's fifth-largest fuel market, and look forward to working with Shell in additional European markets."
