FlipGive clients offer gift cards through digital channels and social networking sites. The gift card's purchase triggers a charitable donation from the retailer. FlipGive's clients include Johnson & Johnson, Lowes, Schwan's, Also and Indigo.

FlipGive also engages in what's called give-marketing—its clients pledge to give to a fundraiser in exchange for the fundraiser promoting and selling on the company's behalf.

"Virtual Piggy's technology makes it much easier for kids and teens to directly support the fundraising efforts of their friends and people in their communities," says Mark Marovich, brand director at Toronto-based Better The World, in a release.

Virtual Piggy, which enables young people to make payments with parental supervision, has entered into a number of recent partnerships, enabling payments for a toy robot seller, an action sports company and a computer game developer. Virtual Piggy also has a marketing partnership with online payment provider ClickandBuy.
