Youth payments company Virtual Piggy will provide its services to Better The World Inc.'s FlipGive, a platform that connects companies to fundraising efforts.
FlipGive clients offer gift cards through digital channels and social networking sites. The gift card's purchase triggers a charitable donation from the retailer. FlipGive's clients include Johnson & Johnson, Lowes, Schwan's, Also and Indigo.
FlipGive also engages in what's called give-marketingits clients pledge to give to a fundraiser in exchange for the fundraiser promoting and selling on the company's behalf.
"Virtual Piggy's technology makes it much easier for kids and teens to directly support the fundraising efforts of their friends and people in their communities," says Mark Marovich, brand director at Toronto-based Better The World, in a release.
