Global Payments Inc. has named Jeffrey S. Sloan, a former managing director at Goldman Sachs & Co., as the Atlanta-based payment processor’s new president.
Sloan replaces James G. Kelly, who became Global’s vice chairman and chief operating officer. Kelly has been with the company since 2000.
Sloan, who oversaw New York-based Goldman Sachs’ financial technology group, will oversee Global’s North America business and worldwide business-development efforts, Global says.
Sloan and Kelly report to Paul R. Garcia, Global’s chairman and CEO.
A Global spokesperson deferred discussing the change until after the company’s third quarter earnings conference call with analysts later today.
