I Love Velvet Joins Samsung Solutions Exchange

Mobile payments company I Love Velvet has joined the Samsung Solutions Exchange, which provides business owners with tools and applications for Samsung devices.

I Love Velvet's mobile point of sale offering allows merchants to accept credit and debit card payments on smartphones or tablets. It is newly compatible with Samsung devices, having expanded to support Windows Surface and Android products in January. Until recently, its technology worked only with Apple smartphones and tablets.

Its app lets employees and customers browse store inventory, add product discounts and promotions, and add or remove items from customer chopping carts. Merchants can also use Velvet's cloud-based business management tool to access remote, real-time reports from specific stores.

Samsung's smartphones and tablets account for 65% of devices run Google's Android mobile operating system, according to a February report from Localytics. Other payment companies are ensuring their technology is compatible with Samsung's products; PayPal, for example, prepared mobile payments software for Samsung's Galaxy S5 smartphone and Gear 2 smartwatch before either product launched.
