Police in Ahemdabad, a city in the western state of Gujarat in India, reportedly have uncovered a large credit card-skimming operation. When contacted by CardLine Global, police declined to provide details of the case because it remained under investigation. According to The Times of India, a former bank employee and others stole data from expired cards and manipulated payment technology to make fraudulent purchases. The fraudsters allegedly made the purchases at stores deemed less crowded than others and insisted on swiping the cards themselves instead of handing them to clerks.
