Ingenico S.A. last week announced the launch of a mobile-payment terminal that includes a color screen. France-based Ingenico believes the terminal is necessary because the color screen "allows for a more-elegant interface, enhancing the interaction with the user and making the communication of such information clearer and more user-friendly," a company spokesperson writes in an e-mail message to CardLine Global. Ingenico expects to deploy the EFT 930 Color Contactless terminal with hospitality retailers and others in need of a portable or mobile-payment device, according to the spokesperson. Ingenico says the contactless terminal is the first of its kind to receive terminal certification from Visa Inc. and MasterCard Worldwide. New and existing customers have expressed interest in the terminal, but Ingenico did not say whether it has shipped any of the devices.
