E-commerce payment gateway Instamojo is adding digital wallet payment acceptance to its platform, further pushing initiatives to have consumers in India using less cash.
The Bangalore-based payment gateway for micro merchants is offering the digital wallet option only for transactions at 10,000 Indian Rupee ($150 U.S.) or lower.
Users visit the App Store on the Instamojo dashboard and click on "Digital Wallets" to choose a plan and register.
The digital wallet option expands Instamojo payment offerings, which include payment application interfaces, payments through WhatsApp, e-mail, Twitter or text messages.
Merchants seeking digital wallet acceptance would pay 3% plus three INR per transaction, and 5% plus three INR for digital goods, according to the Instamojo website.
Instamojo's services fall in line with a general movement in India to convert cash to digital payments.
