Swedish mobile point of sale company iZettle has launched a software development kit (SDK) to allow other companies to leverage iZettle's technology to build payments services.
The SDK is a package of pre-written code that developers can use in their own applications. The toolswhich are currently available to iOS developers, with an Android version expected in the near futurealso support card readers and receipt printers, the company
iZettle's SDK beta test users include 24/7 Taxi, a cab ordering service; iKentu, a restaurant point of sale system; and Lavu Point of Sale, which also serves the restaurant industry. iZettle expects a broader range of merchants now that the SDK is public, the company says.
