Jibun Bank Corp., a joint venture between KDDI Corp. and the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, announced last week it is issuing Visa- and MasterCard-branded credit cards. Jibun is an Internet-based bank where customers also can conduct banking services using their mobile or home telephones. Customers can apply for the cards through their phones or online. Cardholders can link their mobile accounts to the card to pay their monthly bills, the bank said in a statement. The bank also plans to issue a JCB-branded credit card in April.
