Credit Saison Co. Ltd., one of Japan’s largest credit card companies, is in the process of deploying 250 ATMs to make it simpler for customers to pay back their card loans, an official from the Tokyo-based company tells PaymentsSource.
Fifty of the FACT-V X100 machines from Fujitsu Frontech Ltd. already have been deployed inside shopping malls and at train stations, and Credit Saison will deploy the rest by the end of July, according to the official.
“Fujitsu Ltd. and Fujitsu Frontech worked together to create these special ATMs for Credit Saison, which will allow the issuer to enhance its repayment services,” she says. Fujitsu Frontech is a Fujitsu e-business subsidiary.
The new functions will allow customers to repay cash advances and card loans using currencies as small as one-yen coins, the official says, noting the ATMs can process 10 currency notes per second, crucial in high traffic locations.
