Kazakhstan’s Kcell Establishes Online Phone Top-Up System

GSM Kazakhstan, also known as Kcell, has become the first mobile operator in Kazakhstan to offer its customers an online system to top up their prepaid mobile-phone accounts, the company announced in a July 20 statement.

Kcell subscribers may top up their mobile accounts from anywhere in the world where there is Internet access to Kcell’s website. The service is available for free to holders of MasterCard, Visa and American Express credit and debit cards in Kazakhstan, according to a Kcell spokesperson.

JSC Kazkommertsbank acquires the card transactions used to top up the phone accounts.

Established in 1999, Kcell has Kazakhstan largest mobile-phone subscriber base with more than 7 million customers.
