Online transaction-processing company M2 Global Ltd. announced last week it has acquired Altair Technologies Ltd. and formed M2 Europe to run the new company and to establish itself in Europe as a prepaid debit card manager and processor. United Kingdom-based Altair specializes in card design, implementation and management, M2 Global says, noting the acquisition will help the Antigua-based company expand also into the Middle East and Asia. "Under the M2 Europe banner, we look forward to the continued development and improvement of the prepaid card-processing business," Joel Harris, president of M2 Financial, an M2 Global sister company, said in a statement. "Altair's processing certifications, intellectual property and technical expertise will provide additional building blocks for future products and position us to address emerging opportunities in the rapidly growing global prepaid market."
