Smart Data provides spending data that can be configured to multiple card programs and market segments, MasterCard says. The updated product, smartdata.gen2, has improvements to expense reporting, improved data export capabilities and a new analytics module to help users monitor their programs graphically.

“It is absolutely vital that we provide comprehensive and usable data to our customers so they can streamline their purchasing processes and better manage expenses,” Ed Glassman, MasterCard's group executive for global commercial products, in a press release Oct. 8.

MasterCard, of Purchase, N.Y., also updated its Global Data Repository to help customers track their carbon footprint.
