MokiMobility and Revel Team to Address Mobile Data Security Rules

MokiMobility, which offers outsourced tablet management, monitoring and security services, is partnering with iPad point of sale service provider Revel Systems to sell technology that meets new Payment Card Industry data security guidance for mobile transactions.

Revel Systems will integrate its MokiManage product across all Revel iPad point of sale systems, totaling several thousand immediate distributions.

The combined technology is designed to provide compliance with the PCI security standards council's guidance issued in February for mobile payments.

The council's guidance has led a growing number of technology companies to brush up on hosted PCI compliance technology for merchants and issuers.

"With these new guidelines it's important to consider how developers, merchants and solutions providers need to look at the environment as a whole, not just the mobile point-of-sale app itself," says Tom Karren, CEO of MokiMobility, in a release.

"They're now faced with the challenge of diving into the network, the device, the OS, peripherals and other applications," Karren adds. "A true management, monitoring and security solution such as ours that allows these users to go beyond the scope of just the app is critical."
