MoneyGram Renews Agreement with Albertsons

MoneyGram will extend its agreement to provide services in more than 600 Albertsons locations in the U.S.

The agreement includes a system upgrade that will enable consumers to interact with customer service representatives while completing money transfers. Albertsons will also install new signage to direct consumers to the service desk for MoneyGram support.

Albertsons stores are primarily located in on the West Coast and in the South.

"Customers will now be able to initiate as well as complete their MoneyGram transactions with friendly store associates, allowing for a more personal and informative user experience," says Pete Ohser, senior vice president of U.S. and Canada at MoneyGram, in a Dec. 23 press release.

MoneyGram also recently bought Nexxo Financial's kiosk-based money transfer business, a move that increased MoneyGram's presence in California and other parts of the western U.S.
