MoneyPass, Intercept Deal Expands Both ATM Networks

Surcharge-free ATM operators MoneyPass Network and InterCept Switch have increased the number of ATMs in their networks and expanded their geographic reach through a recently completed reciprocal deal. The agreement expands the number of MoneyPass ATMs to more than 16,000 machines from 13,500 previously, Douglas P. Miraglia, MoneyPass president, tells ATM&Debit News, a CardLine sister publication. In addition, the agreement gives MoneyPass a presence in Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, Miraglia says. Jacksonville, Fla.-based Fidelity National Information Services Inc. owns InterCept, which is based in Norcross, Ga. Jeffrey Fazio, Fidelity National's vice president of EFT Strategic Planning, tells CardLine sister publication ATM&Debit News, the deal expands InterCept's national footprint from 3,000 machines. The reciprocal agreement, which was signed in December, means MoneyPass cardholders' can use their cards surcharge-free at InterCept ATMs and vice versa, Miraglia and Fazio say.Minneapolis-based U.S. Bancorp owns MoneyPass.
