Novopayment Inc., a prepaid card provider, announced today that it has begun offering the Sambil Visa General Purpose Reloadable Card in Venezuela. Based in Miami, Novopayment already has issued 2,700 cards to consumers through a kiosk at the Sambil mall in Caracas, Venezuela, and it says it expects to issue between 35,000 and 45,000 cards throughout Venezuela by the end of the year. Consumers may use the card for purchases at more than 150,000 point-of-sale locations in Venezuela, the company says. Consumers must put a minimum load of 150 bolivares ($50) on the card, and may load up to 4,000 bolivares ($200) per transaction, the company says. Consumers may reload the card at 250 retail outlets including drug stores, mobile phone stores and other merchants that are connected to the Plata reloading network, a Novopayment spokesperson tells CardLine in an e-mail.
