Payzone will integrate the SEQR wallet by this summer, Seamless states in a March 26 press release.

"The agreement with Payzone allows us to reach a large number of new stores and further speed up the expansion pace within the retail- and restaurant industry," said Peter Fredell, CEO of Sweden-based Seamless, in the news release.

Payzone has 80 partnerships with Electronic Cash Register suppliers, including Sweden's largest grocery, fast food and national retailer chains such as McDonald's, Hemkop and Ur&Penn, Seamless says. Apoteksgruppen, a Swedish pharmacy chain, is also deploying the SEQR wallet.

To use SEQR, shoppers scan a QR code displayed at the point of sale and then confirm the amount by entering a PIN in the mobile wallet app. The receipt is then stored in the mobile app.

"Through SEQR's payment solution our clients can both keep transaction costs down and offer a smooth payment method," says Jan Lundblad, CEO of Payzone, in the release.
