Prepaid Financial Services acquires Spectre Technologies

London-based Prepaid Financial Services (PFS) has purchased Malta-based financial services software development company Spectre Technologies.

Spectre has been a key provider of middleware to PFS in developing mobile apps and wallets for a broad base of users, the companies said in a Feb. 21 press release.

Bringing Spectre in-house will streamline development of PFS’ white-label mobile payments solutions for banks across Europe, including enabling Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Android Pay in different markets, PFS said in the release.

“Our partnership with Spectre will allow us to accelerate the delivery of products and programs to meet (our clients’) needs in even shorter timeframes than we do today,” said Noel Moran, PFS’ CEO, in the release.

The move also will expand the services Spectre can provide PFS, the companies said.

“Our team of more than 45 technical staff will provide additional support in building innovative solutions as well as acting in an advisory role to organizations when launching new products and services to the market,” added Len Busuttil, Spectre’s CEO.
