Revel brings integrated payments to its iPad POS platform

Revel Systems has expanded the capabilities of its iPad-based point of sale system by offering merchants an option to have multiple payment methods processed through the POS.

Revel Advantage software bundles integrated payments with the Revel POS platform, facilitating credit, debit, mobile/Apple Pay and gift card payment processing, as well as a point-to-point encryption service.

San Francisco-based Revel positions the EMV-ready upgrade as a way for businesses to save time and money by combining software, hardware and processing through a single dashboard.

“Revel Advantage creates a significant benefit for businesses in providing better payments control, gold standard security and competitive cost benefits," Revel's chief operating officer, Bobby Marhamat, said in a Sept. 14 press release.

Food delivery service Mealmade has already implemented Revel Advantage at its San Francisco-area business.

"By integrating the Revel payments processor, we have been able to streamline our payments solution and now can process all types of payments,” Mealmade founder Jeff Nobbs said in the release.

Revel has scored some significant retail wins since becoming one of the first iPad-based POS systems to become EMV ready more than a year ahead of the 2015 liability shift for chip cards.

The company views Revel Advantage as the next key step, providing the capability to integrate other payments acceptance coding and business software into the POS platform.
