Merchants wanting to integrate their transaction data into other business-management software have a new option.
Sage Payment Solutions, a McLean, Va.-based transaction processor, says Sage Exchange, an integrated payment service it developed that enables merchants to combine financial and transaction data, is available on Ingenico S.A.’s point-of-sale terminals.
Merchants may use Sage Exchange to accept multiple payment methods, including credit and debit cards, gift and loyalty cards, automated clearinghouse transactions, and paper and electronic checks, Sage says. Merchants may import data about these transactions into a their accounting or business-management software.
Ingenico will load Sage Exchange onto the terminals via a custom browser, but the software will be managed by a server Sage controls, a Sage spokesperson says
Sage chose Ingenico devices in part because they “are reasonably priced when compared with other next-generation payment devices,” she notes.
