The Shanghai bureau of the China Banking Regulatory Commission recorded an 8.6% increase in credit card complaints from consumers during the third quarter ended 30 Sept., to 367 from 338 during the second quarter, a spokesperson for the agency tells CardLine Global. The agency would not release complaint data from last year's third quarter, and complaint totals from other regions were not immediately available. Most consumer complaints in Shanghai involved misleading marketing, over-limit charges and settlement methods for unpaid bills, the spokesperson says.
