Payment processor Vantiv is partnering with mobile carrier Sprint to launch a tablet-based mobile point of sale system for merchants.
The Cincinnati, Ohio-based processor/acquirer says its Vantiv Mobile Checkout will have everything a merchant needs to operate a secure POS.
The cloud-based system will include the tablet, wireless connectivity, an encrypted card reader, a tablet stand, cash drawer, countertop receipt printer with scanners, and Bluetooth printers.
Sprint's sales force will offer the Vantiv system to merchants, the companies announced this week. NCR Silver powers the Vantiv Mobile Checkout.
The system includes business management tools for multi-store inventory, employee time keeping, and e-mail or social media campaigns to increase sales and drive loyalty programs.
In addition, employees can use Vantiv Mobile Checkout outside of the store, such as when visiting customers' homes.
Vantiv says it currently serves about 400,000 merchant locations in the U.S.
Neither Vantiv nor Sprint responded to inquiries before deadline.
