The Jacksonville, Fla., banking technology vendor said Monday that the banking unit of Sterling Financial Corp. is planning to install its integrated banking services software and several related payments applications.

Sterling, of Spokane, already uses check imaging and electronic payments applications from FIS, and will now also use its automated clearing house, compliance, online banking, risk management and customer-relationship management technology.

FIS said the $10 billion-asset Sterling is the eighth financial company to agree to use IBS in recent months.
